Two guys who love sports, almost more than women...

1) Albert Pujols and Brandon Webb. Kazmir would be right there if it didn’t half expect his arm to fall off everytime he pitched.
2) Sleet doesn’t bother me, I don’t bother it. Gary Bettman on the other hand…
3) I’m with Jeremy, the Coco Crisp groundball is definitely doable.
4) I’ve seen the video of his provincial title win against Birtle. It’s a spectacular demonstration of athletic achievement if I’ve ever seen one.

Coco Crisp could definitely mash a ball harder than little Jimmy Friesen, or any high school player Manitoba could produce, so best of luck with that Swatter and I have faith in Larks from 30 feet, anyday

[Scrum Screw-ups and Omissions for Podcast XII]
Larry Page and Sergey Brin were the geeks who created Google (and they actually spelled it wrong – a googol is the number 1 followed by 100 zeros)…
U of Toronto men’s basketball did end up as ranked 9…
Saved by the Bell ran 5 glorious seasons, 1989-1993…
AC didn’t call Zach a “prep”, he actually called him a punk which starts the rumble…

To clear this up, not all the Saved by the Bell stars went to California U.
Only Zach, AC and Screech made their way there. Kelly joined the crew halfway through episode 1 as a transfer student… riveting stuff…
We’d have to agree that Swatter has more chance against Toskala than “Larks” does of breaking down — anyone really. Even a lowly Zone 4 player could beat the Leafs these days…
Dregz could do anything he wants on the cover, no one will buy it so long as a Steelers jersey is present…
NYC = East Coast
Swatter’s road trip to watch the Red Sox get crushed by the omnipotent Yankees would be far superior to anything Tennessee has to offer (except maybe Morgan Freeman, he lives in TN!)…
Somehow black licorice causes some 300 deaths a year!
Interestingly enough hairless cats only caused 2 deaths last year…
Sleet is worse than Gary Bettman only because Bettman will die some day and the world will rejoice… and if Al Gore has anything to do with it, glorious “sleet” will be around bunging things up forever!
[drum roll]
Blindside Winner: Jeremy Sawatzky
Although Dregz did put in a noteworthy effort, the Zone 4 Narcissist was too much this week…
2008 Blindside score: 5-4 David J. Larkins
That’s it, that’s all, you’ll know better for next time kids.

At the risk of sounding as arrogant as Swatter, I agree that even a modestly competent Canadian baseball player (like myself) could (eventually) throw out Coco Crisp on an infield groundball.
And at the risk of sounding even more like Swatter, I will attempt to bolster my own credibility by proclaiming that I once won a Western Canadian midget baseball championship in Brandon (as a member of a team from Alberta). We tore the Manitoba representative apart in the final (and lost just one game, in the round robin, to a BC team headed by future Blue Jay Paul Spoljaric).
I, too, could throw out Coco Crisp. And, like almost any Canadian who skates better than the average 5-year-old, I would be far superior in the hockey challenge than any opponent I have seen so far on Pros vs. Joes.
But I doubt that Swatter could score 5 goals in 20 attempts on Vesa Toskala. The over/under would be 3 goals.
My favorite line so far on Pros vs. Joes: the reference to “future NHL Hall-of-Famer…Marty McSorley.”
Keep the podcasts coming, boys. And just so you know, I now turn to The Scrum before Prime Time Sports….
When will you be available on I-Tunes???
