Podcast #8: Ken Murray
An interview with Brock Badgers head coach Ken Murray (15:15); an epic rant from David Larkins about the people of Ottawa “not getting it” (44:45); predictions for Superbowl XLII; and a very special edition of Blindside (51:47) featuring a choose-your-own-adventure for the ages, plus thoughts on the Miss America pageant, cheerleading, and the town of Morris. Also, Swatter and Larkins contemplate a career in professional wrestling.

The National being played in Kanata is good only because its in the middle of the country BUT it will be a one game tournament…local teams will draw and thats it. My family lives 2 hours away and they will NOT stay …….its in the middle of nowhere…..too bad.The organizers should be listening because all of the concerns raised are legitimate ones whether you are from Brandon, Victoria or Montreal, Halifax or Smith falls.!!!! Wake up CIS please.

Why would you guys say that Ottawa will represent the OUA East? (Carleton with the automatic bid). Toronto has beaten Ottawa already, played Carleton tight (in spite of horrendous refereeing), and have beaten your top boys from the West, Calgary, on a neutral court (Rob Paris put your boy Bekkering to shame) … yet, not even one mention of them. Funny how people talk about “East Coast Bias” in the media. Seems like Western media are pretty clueless too … I’m sure Toronto, who is one of the best coached teams in the country, will continue to fly under the radar and don’t mind doing so. But just get it right and give credit where it is due ….

Yeah, pardon me for predicting something. I promise not to do that again. What kills me is when we have a 5-second discussion on this topic and happen to not mention Toronto that that somehow is our bias/cluelessness about Varsity. Please. Sorry to slight your crew by still believing Ottawa will make it. Again, pardon me for making a prediction and hurting feelings in the process

Three cheers to Jeremy for mentioning “The Lark Ascending” by Ralph Vaughan Williams. I’m totally surprised that you even know about that piece!
Minus 100 cheers to Jeremy for the most ridiculous blindside question about the three options given to Larkins. Hilarious but totally retarded.

[Scrum Screw-ups and Omissions for Podcast #8]
Either you guys are getting smarter or I’m slipping because you were nearly Patriot-perfect for a second straight week!
Larkins! There are a few people listening who know where Morris is. And for those who don’t know, here you go.
(Mapquest send us money c/o The Scrum Brandon.com http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&formtype=address&popflag=0&latitude=&longitude=&name=&phone=&level=&cat=&address=&city=Morris&state=MB&zipcode
Also, Larkins is not 21! He just turned 24, enabling him to still date freshman…
Although no one would ever know/care, AAA baseball stadium are the same size as the Big Leagues…
[drum roll sound effect]
Blindside Winner: Tom Brady???
After both hosts fumble by admittedly watching cheerleading on TV…
The Patriots take this week’s Blindside and complete the undefeated season!
(Steve Armitage reports Lex Icon and The Pussifist weeping in the corner…)
2008 Blindside score: 2-2-1
That’s it, that’s all, you’ll know better for next time kids.
Go Pats!

Allow me to re-score this:
My age allows me to date freshmen, plural. Not freshman.
Also, giving a tie is unacceptable. I don’t agree with this process even taking place, but if it is going to happen, then at least get it straight.
Winner? Larkins. 2008 Blindside score: 3-2, Larkins.

My spelling is fine, i didn’t mean freshmen as in first year students. I meant freshman… as in fresh-man. I’ll be more clear next time.
And there was no tie, it was a clear cut ass whoopin’ by the Patirots. Tom Brady was no doubt MVP and the Steelers… ahh why beat a dead horse?

personally, i think Eli Manning was this week’s Blindside winner.
but that’s just me.
